Locking bone plates offer many advantages over traditional compression plate technology. In this course we will use the Intrauma FIXIN® locking plate system to stabilize long bone fractures. Participants will become familiar with locking bone plate fixation using plastic bones and cadavers. No previous bone plating experience is need for this course. This course is a prerequisite to the Intrauma FIXIN® TPLO course scheduled May 6-7, 2022.

Following successful completion of this course, the participant will:

- Know the advantages and disadvantages of locking late systems, with particular emphasis on the Intrauma FIXIN® system

- Successfully execute surgical stabilization of simple and more complex fractures of the radius, femur, and tibia on plastic bones and cadavers

- Have completed the prerequisite to taking an Intrauma FIXIN® TPLO course

Courtyard Lodging Includes: 

  • Airport Pick up: Available on request, 7 days a week starting at 6:00a and ending at 10:00p
  • Guests will need to call the hotel upon arrival (702.434.4700) after they pick up their luggage. At that time, we will inform them of the area they will be picked up and we will send the shuttle driver.
  • Airport drop off: All drop-offs are every two hours, starting at 6:00a and ending at 10:00p. Please sign up at the front desk at least 1 hour prior to departing.
  • Shuttle service to Las Vegas Strip: Pickups and drop-offs are outside the Mandalay Bay Tour and Trolley stop.

Pick-up Times:
12:30p, 4:30p, 10:30p

  • Please sign up at the front desk at least 1 hour prior.
  • Ground transportation to/from hotel and Viticus Center.
  • Be ready at the Courtyard hotel lobby 30 minutes in advance of course start time and board the van for the short ride to the Viticus Center. View Map.
  • Return to the hotel at the end of the instructional day.

TRANSPORTATION

Public transportation in Las Vegas is limited. If you are staying somewhere other than our preferred partner, Courtyard Las Vegas Henderson/Green Valley, you will need to arrange for your transportation to and from the Viticus Center. If you are renting a car, Mandalay Bay, Luxor and several other hotels on the strip may charge for parking. Other transportation options for getting around are taxi service, Uber and Lyft.

PACKING TIPS

  1. Scrubs are available upon your arrival if needed.

  2. Closed-toe shoes are required during labs.

  3. A light sweater for indoor areas.

  4. Plenty of sunscreen.

  5. Electronic charging device to power up.

  6. Valid ID - We highly recommend you carry your ID at all times in Las Vegas.
