Emergency Techniques for the General Practitioner

September 7-8, 2026

This cadaver-based course covers emergency management of penetrating thoracic and abdominal trauma through hands-on practice and discussion. Procedures include thoracostomy tube placement, tracheostomy, laryngeal foreign body removal, cardiopulmonary resuscitation and defibrillation, abdominocentesis, nasoesophageal tube placement, and endoscopic foreign body removal.

About This Course

This cadaver based course will allow for the treatment and discussion of emergency management of penetrating trauma to the thorax and abdomen.  Procedures such as thoracotomy tube placement, tracheostomy, laryngeal foreign body removal, resuscitation, defibrillation, abdominocentesis, nasoesophageal tube placement and endoscopic removal of foreign bodies will be covered.
