Enhance your surgical repertoire by joining the first part to this course: Practical Techniques in Soft Tissue & Orthopedic Surgery, November 4-6!

This 2-day workshop is designed to teach participants the technical aspects of a variety of practical soft tissue surgery procedures. Some ‘theory’ will be included in the lectures, but the emphasis will be placed on ‘how’ to perform each procedure. This will maximize the time participants spend in the laboratory. Day 1 will focus on procedures of the canine including laryngeal tie-back, TECA-LBO, perineal hernia, anal sacculectomy, and scrotal urethrostomy in the canine. Day 2 will focus on procedures of the feline including Ventral bulla osteotomy, Nasal planectomy + pinnectomy, perineal urethrostomy, caudal superficial epigastric flap and standard + Mila chest drain placement. Emphasis will be placed on the regional anatomy as well as the technical aspects used to perform each procedure. Videos of clinical case material will be used extensively throughout the lectures to help illustrate each technique before practicing them in the laboratory.

Hands-on training led by expert instructors equals enhanced proficiency and improved dentistry skills. Build your confidence in performing procedures with accuracy and efficiency:

  • Successfully and confidently perform a variety of practical soft tissue surgery techniques
  • Understand recent developments and new techniques in soft tissue surgery
  • Understand the relevant regional anatomy for each procedure performed
  • Understand proper instrument choice and tissue handling techniques
